Hand On Head

It’s impossible “not to do” something. Don’t think about elephants. See? 

Students react the same way. They can’t “not do” something.

But they will comply with glee if they’re asked to do something.

Especially if it’s goofy. 

Sabine is learning the transposing piece, Baseball Cap, from Piano Town Lessons Level One.  This simple piece is transposed into multiple keys, so it’s important that the details are observed correctly. What I love about this video is how visibly hard she’s working to achieve the various elements:

  • Lifting her hands together at the end of the first phrase
  • Playing her hands together at the beginning of the second phrase
  • Leaving her right hand on the keys and putting her hand on her head during the rest
